塘河，是流经家乡的最大的一条河，通过几年的治理。虽然整体上有很大的变化，但还是有很多地段让人看了非常吃惊。水面上漂浮着塑料袋、蔬菜、叶子等杂物,河底布满了青苔:泥沙和那些乌黑的像棉絮一样的沉淀物。河两岸随处可见一些废物和垃圾，偶尔看到的几棵树木，也因为长期吸吮不到干净有营养的水分，只剩几片枯枝败叶，一些树上还挂着塑料袋和破衣裤，让人惨不忍睹。
从温州的环境报告中，也能清楚地看到，我市空气质量较好，但内河污染很严重，平原河网水质较差。温瑞塘河干流中，大部分河段的水因为金属污染和生活垃圾污染，已丧失了使用功能。

镇政府治水办公室的王老师带我们一行人沿着河岸边走边就近观察内河，我们看到内河被分成了两段，其中一段河面上种植着一大片绿油油的水植物，王老师向我们介绍：这是一种净化河水的植物——狐尾草，水受到污染后，它可以净化河水，使它变的清澈；另一段内河用障碍物隔离成了小池塘模样，只见河面上漂着好多个蓝色作业工具——增氧机，增氧机每隔一段时间就不断翻滚起来，通过这样的增氧作业使河水活起来，有利于鱼、水植等的存活。”王老师从内河提了一桶水让我们观察，我们拿它跟矿泉水比，通过比较观察，我们发现矿泉水清澈无比，很想喝它解渴；而河水很浑浊，其中还有少量水虫、还有一丝异味，想远离并赶紧倒掉。这还是二期治水的效果，水污染情况还是非常严重的。接着，我们一群人来到会议室讨论，同时王老师问我们：“政府可以采取哪些措施来治理水污染。”我们几乎异口同声的说道：“种狐尾草，清理河道。”王老师听完我们的回答后，微笑着点头，同时，向我们补充介绍政府还这样做：
